CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines — Three people died while four others were injured when their truck crashed into a coconut tree in Mambajao, Camiguin on Friday.
One of the victims died at the scene of the accident. The rest were declared dead on arrival at the Mambajao General Hospital.
Police identified the fatalities as Jerry Agbo, Emmanuel Sale and Verson Semania.
Reports said the victims, along with several construction workers, were headed to Catarman town when their truck figured in the accident at around 7:30 a.m. in Barangay Nasag.
The truck is reportedly owned by Marivic Jonsol, a member of the provincial board who is into construction business.
Catarman Councilor Marve Rodriguez said such incident rarely happens in Camiguin.
Transport strikes are also set in Bacolod, Panay, Cebuphjackpot, Southern Tagalog, Davao, Central Luzon and Baguio City. “We expect at least 80 percent to 90 percent of the public transport will join as even members of the cooperatives will join the transport strike,” Floranda said.
